Sam and Maisie have just bought their first home and we have arranged their mortgage. We talk to them about their protection needs. We understand they have 2 young children. We recommend a joint life first death decreasing mortgage protection (life insurance) to run alongside the new mortgage which will essentially pay off the mortgage if one of them were to die during the term. We also recommended an income protection policy which will cover the monthly mortgage payments and associated living costs if Sam was unable to work in his own profession. This will give the family peace of mind that if the unexpected were to happen they would be financially protected.
